About The Position

The Regional Environment, Health, Safety & Sustainability Manager at Xylem is responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring environmental, safety, and health policies and procedures across branch offices in the United States. This role emphasizes creating a zero-incident safety culture and achieving sustainability goals while serving as a subject matter expert in EHS&S matters.

Requirements

  • 5+ years' experience as a safety professional in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Construction experience preferred.
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Occupational Health and Safety Technologists (OHST) preferred.
  • Knowledge of Federal OSHA and state-equivalent programs for occupational safety and health.
  • Knowledge of Federal MSHA and state-equivalent programs for occupational safety and health for mines.
  • Knowledge of Federal DOT and state-equivalent programs for commercial fleet safety.
  • Knowledge of Federal EPA and state-equivalent programs for environmental protection.
  • Understanding of behavioral-based safety concepts in industrial processes.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

  • Drive and promote a zero-incident safety culture with no injuries and zero environmental Notices of Violation (NOVs).
  • Assist the Senior Regional EHS&S Manager in exceeding sustainability goals.
  • Serve as an EHS&S subject matter expert and business partner for the region.
  • Conduct periodic site visits to provide in-person support based on business needs.
  • Coordinate, develop, and deliver EHS&S training and education programs for new hires and existing employees.
  • Identify facility/job site hazards and risks to prevent injuries and ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
  • Collaborate with managers and staff to implement loss prevention and corrective actions for unsafe conditions.
  • Partner with Operations teams to communicate accidents, near misses, and lessons learned.
  • Support the development and implementation of EHS Management System procedures.
  • Coordinate the communication of EHSMS elements at regional branches.
  • Assist in investigating accidents to identify root causes and corrective actions.
  • Participate in the Xylem Corporate EHS&S Audit Program as an audit team member or leader.
  • Develop and analyze safety data and programs under the direction of the Director of EHS&S.
  • Prepare detailed summaries of risk assessments, test results, and safety concerns with recommendations for improvement.
