Requirements

  • 7+ years experience as an environment, health and safety manager
  • Ability to interact well with all levels of the organization and maintain strong relationships with team members, peers and internal customers
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, both oral and written
  • Direct experience with employee health and safety compliance, OSHA standards, safety management systems, industrial hygiene, electrical safety, laser safety, chemical management and ergonomics.
  • Experience with ISO standards.
  • Functional knowledge of Federal and State Safety/Health Laws (e.g. OSHA)
  • Interested about employee training and development
  • At least one year of training/development experience
  • Direct management experience for employees and their performance
  • Candidates must be flexible to work weekends and/or overnight shifts regularly

Responsibilities

  • Provide H&S leadership to building management to ensure compliance with OSHA standards, company policies and the prevention of occupational injuries/illnesses and associated WC costs
  • Assess the adequacy and effectiveness of existing safety, industrial hygiene and occupational health programs in the operation
  • Identify and mitigate H&S risks; analyze data to develop conclusions, trends, and the identification of opportunities for improvement
  • Audit existing work practices to ensure compliance with applicable regulations, tracking and reporting on non-conformances and corrective actions.
  • Develop, maintain and conduct H&S training for managers, supervisors, employees, and new hires
  • Present in town hall meetings engaging public with the safety initiatives
  • Coordinate the reporting and follow-up on all safety related activities
  • Perform other duties as required to ensure sustainable compliance and continuous improvement in H&S
  • Provide coaching, mentoring, counselling and performance management of training employees
  • Implement training plans to provide all employees proper coaching of all functions
  • Maintains compliance to ISO 45001, 50001, 14001, and RBA standards.
  • Create a positive experience for new employees by teaching the importance of Arrow culture
  • Provide feedback regarding performance during training and help identify knowledge gaps
  • Identify areas for improvements in safety, quality, service and productivity
