About The Position

The Regional ECHO Liaison (REL) serves as a scientific and clinical expert within a defined geography, supporting the appropriate and safe use of BMS medicines through non-promotional, peer‑to‑peer scientific exchange. The REL identifies disease‑ and product‑related medical needs, develops trusted relationships with Thought Leaders (TLs) and Healthcare Providers (HCPs), and acts as a key medical resource for the regional echo and sonography community. The role is field‑based with significant travel and operates in alignment with BMS Medical Affairs strategies and external stakeholder needs.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited ultrasound program, including echocardiography; Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) certification highly preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of adult echocardiography experience, with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) experience required.
  • Demonstrated HCM disease area knowledge, including the ability to understand and discuss scientific publications.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey scientific concepts clearly and concisely.
  • Highly motivated self‑starter with a positive attitude and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Excellent English and Spanish proficiency, written and spoken.
  • Ability to work in a hybrid role (approximately 80% field / 20% home office) with willingness to travel 50–70%, including overnights and weekends.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in medical education, clinical training, or field‑based scientific/liaison roles supporting HCPs or allied health professionals
  • Experience translating complex echo or imaging data into practical clinical insights for diverse audiences
  • Familiarity with Medical Affairs operating models, compliance standards, and cross‑functional collaboration
  • Demonstrated success working with regional or national healthcare systems

Responsibilities

  • Identify and assess disease‑, diagnosis‑, and product‑related medical needs within an assigned region.
  • Develop and maintain long‑term, credible relationships with Thought Leaders and Healthcare Providers within healthcare systems.
  • Engage in meaningful, peer‑to‑peer scientific exchange to support patient access and the safe and appropriate use of BMS medicines, in compliance with medical and regulatory standards.
  • Serve as a medical and scientific resource for external stakeholders, including echo and sonography personnel.
  • Translate complex scientific and clinical data into clear, practical, and clinically relevant information for external audiences.
  • Align external engagements with medical strategies and the unmet needs expressed by healthcare stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate strong planning, organization, and administrative management skills to support field activities and documentation.
  • Closely collaborate with matrix teams including Medical, Market Access and Commercial functions
  • Deliver scientific presentations, training materials, and educational content for internal and external audiences.
  • Stay current with scientific literature, clinical trial results, and market trends to inform strategic decisions.
  • Mentor and onboard new team members, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and innovation.
  • Represent Puerto Rico in regional/global medical discussions, providing insights that reflect local realities and inform broader strategy.
