About The Position

The Regional Director of Surgical Services is responsible for overseeing and improving surgical services across multiple hospitals within the Community Health Systems (CHS) network. This role involves acting as an expert resource for hospital directors and managers, implementing performance improvement strategies, and ensuring high-quality patient care in perioperative services. The position requires collaboration with regional leaders and mentoring of new site managers, all while adhering to organizational standards and regulations.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Nursing, Business, Health Care Administration, or related field (or currently enrolled in such a program).
  • Current Nursing License required.
  • BLS Certification required; CNOR preferred.
  • Minimum of five years' experience in varied disciplines of surgery.
  • Minimum of five years' experience in management and administration at a large academic or tertiary facility.
  • Technical knowledge of surgical services and the operating room/procedural environment.
  • Experience in leading Perioperative Process Improvement focused on value stream mapping and metrics analysis.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, organizational skills, and computer skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in multiple healthcare settings or healthcare systems with multiple sites of operation.
  • Experience in developing policies and procedures, performance dashboards, and quality metrics.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluating and supporting the Perioperative performance improvement program in hospitals.
  • Assuming responsibility for the consultative development and implementation of programs and clinical initiatives.
  • Providing on-site consultative services for Corporate's Surgical Services or programs for assigned hospitals.
  • Serving as a mentor and expert resource for specialty surgery programs or service line directors.
  • Working collaboratively with regional leaders to improve surgery program quality.
  • Assisting with strategic planning, market analysis, and quality improvement plans for surgical services programs.
  • Developing and cultivating collaborative relationships with corporate and hospital personnel, staff, and physicians.
  • Researching and developing evidence-based practice standards and outcomes metrics for CHS hospitals.
  • Coaching, mentoring, and developing others in key skills such as relationship management and project management.
