Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Certifications in logistics or supply chain management (e.g., APICS, Six Sigma) are highly desired.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in operations management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role, preferably in the food distribution or related industry.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale, complex operations across multiple regions.
  • Strong experience with food safety standards, inventory management, and distribution logistics.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and drive projects to completion in a fast-paced environment.
  • Expertise in warehouse management systems (WMS), enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, and other operational software.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement the operational strategy aligned with the company's overall goals and objectives.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the operations team, fostering a culture of high performance, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Drive innovation in operations to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and increase customer satisfaction.
  • Oversee all aspects of the supply chain, from procurement to delivery, ensuring that food products are delivered on time, in full, and within quality standards.
  • Manage supplier relationships and negotiate contracts to ensure favorable terms and consistency in supply.
  • Ensure compliance with all food safety, regulatory, and environmental standards.
  • Lead the logistics and transportation teams to optimize national distribution networks, ensuring on-time delivery and cost-effective transportation solutions.
  • Implement data-driven strategies to manage fleet operations, warehouse facilities, and distribution points across the country.
  • Continuously evaluate and optimize operational workflows to drive cost reductions and operational efficiencies.
  • Foster a culture of operational excellence through the implementation of Lean, Six Sigma, and other best practices.
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor operational performance and initiate corrective actions when necessary.
  • Develop and manage the operations budget, ensuring cost controls are in place and that the department operates within financial targets.
  • Analyze financial reports to identify areas for improvement and create cost-saving initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, and Customer Service teams to ensure seamless communication between departments and alignment on client expectations.
  • Work closely with IT to enhance systems and processes that drive operational performance and integrate advanced technology into the supply chain.
  • Ensure all operations comply with local, state, and federal regulations, including food safety, health and safety standards, and environmental guidelines.
  • Develop and manage risk mitigation strategies to minimize disruptions in the supply chain and ensure business continuity.
