The Regional Director of Operations (RDO) plays a key leadership role in overseeing regional financial performance, staffing strategy, client relationships, and overall operational success — primarily within skilled nursing facilities (SNFs), senior living, and post-acute care settings throughout Iowa and Southern Minnesota. About Blue Stone Therapy Founded in 2009, Blue Stone Therapy provides contract physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech-language pathology services to skilled nursing, assisted living, long-term care, and post-acute communities across the Midwest. We focus on individualized rehabilitation, strong clinical standards, and dependable partnerships. A Day in the Life of the Regional Director of Operations As a Regional Director of Operations, your focus is leadership, accountability, and performance. You’ll partner with Rehab Directors, clinical teams, recruiters, and facility partners to drive results across your region. You’ll conduct routine site visits, analyze KPIs and financial metrics, support staffing strategies, strengthen client relationships, and collaborate with clinical leadership to ensure operational and compliance success. This role requires regular travel (60%+), strong executive communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple facilities and priorities effectively..

Requirements

  • Active PT, OT, SLP, PTA, or COTA license
  • 5+ years of clinical experience
  • 4+ years of leadership experience in a multi-site SNF or post-acute therapy setting
  • Strong financial and operational acumen
  • Experience managing KPIs, revenue performance, and staffing models
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and decision-making skills
  • Ability to travel 60%+ throughout Iowa and Southern Minnesota
  • Residency within the region or willingness to relocate

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership, coaching, and accountability to Rehab Directors and therapy teams
  • Conduct routine site visits every 4–6 weeks within your region
  • Analyze and manage regional KPIs, revenue forecasts, and expense performance
  • Partner with Recruiters to support hiring and staffing optimization
  • Collaborate with Clinical Services to ensure compliance, quality metrics, and documentation standards
  • Own and strengthen client relationships
  • Identify workflow gaps and implement operational improvements
  • Support marketing initiatives and represent Blue Stone Therapy in the community
  • Drive engagement, retention, and overall team performance
