The Regional Director of Clinical Operations provides regional clinical leadership, subject matter expertise, and accountability for clinical oversight, regulatory compliance, quality outcomes, and operational performance across assigned communities. In partnership with community leadership, the Senior Director of Clinical Operations, and corporate partners, this role identifies and monitors clinical and operational trends, develops and follows through on action plans, and supports informed operational and clinical decision-making.

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse (RN) required, with ability to obtain and maintain licensure in multiple states where The Waters operates.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of progressive leadership experience in senior living or related healthcare settings, including assisted living, home care, home health, hospice, or similar.

Nice To Haves

  • Regional or multi-site leadership experience preferred.
  • Experience supporting residents living with dementia and dementia-related programming is preferred.
  • Experience with regulatory compliance, state survey processes, quality improvement, and multi-site clinical operations preferred.
  • Experience leading or supporting continuous quality improvement initiatives preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provides regional leadership and clinical subject matter expertise for Health & Wellbeing operations.
  • Models and promotes The Waters' values, clinical standards, and service expectations in every interaction.
  • Partners with the Senior Director of Clinical Operations, community leadership, and corporate partners to support clinical service models that are compliant, operationally effective, and financially sustainable.
  • Identifies and monitors operational trends, including labor, resident acuity, service performance, and margin, and supports leaders in aligning staffing and service delivery with service margin goals
  • Maintains regional accountability for identifying, monitoring, and addressing clinical and regulatory compliance risks to assigned communities.
  • Conducts remote and on-site reviews to assess compliance, clinical practice, documentation, medication management, and operational performance, and partners with community leadership to address gaps.
  • Conducts annual mock survey visits to prepare community teams for state survey and supports action plans to maintain survey readiness.
  • Supports communities before, during, and after surveys, complaint investigations, and other regulatory reviews.
  • In partnership with the Senior Director of Clinical operations, corporate partners, and community leadership, develops, recommends, and monitors completion of corrective action
  • Partners with community and operational leaders to support communities experiencing open, unstable, or transitioning clinical leadership roles.
  • In partnership with the Executive Director, develops and coordinates coverage and support plans to maintain compliance, clinical oversight, and operational continuity during vacancies or periods of elevated risk.
  • Provides direct clinical operational support, mentorship, and escalation guidance as needed to stabilize community performance.
  • Collaborates with Executive Directors and corporate leaders to address complex clinical, operational, and staffing challenges.
