About The Position

Northland Control Systems is looking for a Regional Design Engineer in our Bangalore office to support operations in the United States. At Northland Controls, we don’t just design security systems—we design solutions that protect people, assets, and operations. As a Regional Design Engineer, you’ll play a key role in shaping comprehensive security designs that integrate seamlessly with our clients’ environments. You’ll work closely with architects, contractors, and project teams to deliver security solutions that meet both our clients’ standards and Northland’s global design benchmarks.

Requirements

  • 5+ years with a security integrator or design consultant producing complete system design packages.
  • Strong background in low-voltage systems (security, life safety, network infrastructure).
  • Proven ability to work with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
  • Experience managing design engineering processes and creating design standards.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD 2018 or later (2D).
  • Knowledge of Revit (preferred, not required).
  • Product expertise with Lenel S2, C-Cure, Mercury Hardware, HID, Genetec, Milestone, Avigilon, Axis, Assa Abloy, Allegion, Schlage, Altronix, and Life Safety Power Supplies.

Responsibilities

  • Create, maintain, and manage client design tools including drawing templates, approved material lists, and design documentation.
  • Develop tailored security solutions, from product selection to system application.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams—CAD Engineers, Project Managers, and Application Engineers—to adopt and implement global standards.
  • Meet with clients, architects, and contractors to develop security plans in an iterative, collaborative process.
  • Manage design logs, client portfolios, and SharePoint sites with accurate and up-to-date information.
  • Assign tasks to the Global Design Centre and oversee design timelines and schedules.
  • Ensure the quality of design packages, including plans, BOMs, diagrams, and device details, aligning with both client and Northland standards.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with all stakeholders at every stage of the project.
  • Track and allocate project hours accurately through timesheets.
