About The Position

This position will be responsible for leading, directing and managing the Six Sigma / Continuous Improvement (CI) program to advance the business in the region and result in cost and or quality improvements. The role leads across multiple plants in an operations region. They apply knowledge of Six Sigma methodologies to direct, lead and support multi-disciplinary improvement processes that require evaluation, planning, implementation and follow up. Leads root cause analysis, provides analytical and financial analysis / studies, drive capital and non-capital improvements, and leverage available improvement tools such as Six Sigma and Lean. They identify opportunities and develop strategies for continuous improvement of our process lines and overall plant operations by reviewing plant performance and working with site leadership. Directs the coordination and management of all process improvement activities, including people and other resources involved in the analysis, planning, implementation, and documentation to support process improvement projects. This position reports to the Regional Plant Director where they are located with a dotted line reporting structure to Global CI.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree (B.A. or B.S.) from 4 year college or university
  • 8+ years related experience and/or training

Responsibilities

  • Apply, teach, and coach Six Sigma and Lean business process tools and methods to improve engineering management processes.
  • Lead multifunctional teams to work on projects at their regional facilities in order to make improvements to operational performance, product quality and processes.
  • Lead administrative efforts linked to project completion, documentation, and tracking.
  • Ability to prioritize projects balancing impact and alignment with strategic pillars.
  • Provide ad hoc analysis, recommendations for improvement, reporting, and technical support to Plant Directors and operations teams, to help facilities achieve daily, weekly, monthly, and annual targets.
  • Ability to drive for results. Manage completed projects and results.
  • Support the strategic plan. Mentor and advises from leaders to factory shop floor on prioritizing, charting, and launching projects that support the strategic direction of Global Food.
  • Will develop plan to integrate the Six Sigma approach into the business strategy whilst delivering enhancements resulting in cost, quality, and process improvements.
  • Monitors and ensure that Lean processing and Six Sigma breakthrough steps or appropriate tools are correctly applied.
  • Monitors and ensures that factory trained resources are actively applying the Lean processing and Six Sigma breakthrough steps in a correct manner to solve chronic problems, remove waste, and to plan new services or products.
  • Will monitor the progress and ensure that each location is aligning projects with business objectives and strategic plan.
