The Health & Well-Being Institute (https://health.extension.wisc.edu/) in the Division of Extension is hiring a Regional Community Health Coordinator in the Northeast Region of Wisconsin to provide training and technical assistance to community-based partners in identifying and responding to community-driven health priorities. The Regional Community Health Coordinator will support community engagement processes, assessment activities, and data-informed action planning to advance community health and well-being. Training, technical assistance, and capacity building will take multiple forms including in-person and 1:1 consultations, facilitated discussions, webinars, and resource and tool development. The Extension Regional Community Health Coordinator will facilitate linkages between local governments, community-based organizations, local Extension staff, and UW-Madison campus based staff and partners to leverage resources and applied research expertise in response to community health priorities. The topical focus of the position will be responsive to community-identified interests in health and well-being across a range of settings that influence health. Issue areas of interest may include but are not limited to, school-based health, food and nutrition security, mental health, substance misuse prevention and recovery, adolescent well-being, social and community conditions, and policy, systems, and environmental change approaches to promote health and well-being. The Regional Community Health Coordinator will serve a multi-county geography in Northeast Wisconsin (see regional map). Onsite work will occur at a home office within the region and regular local travel is anticipated. Relocation to the Northeast Region may be required for candidates who do not currently reside there. The initial period of employment will be through June 30, 2027, with the possibility to become renewable or be extended contingent upon available funding and program need. This position may require some work to be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location. Some work may be performed remotely, at an offsite, non-campus work location. Remote work requires an approved remote work agreement (RWA). A RWA requires successful candidates to possess their own high-speed internet and phone to perform the work on a university provided computer. Per University policy, transportation between home and assigned work location is not payable/reimbursable and will be at the expense of the employee. This position has the possibility of working up to 2 days remote per Extension's Remote Work Policy.
