About The Position

The Regional Clinical Liaison is responsible for coordinating referral marketing efforts to drive admissions to Good Shepherd's new rehabilitation hospital in Center Valley, Pennsylvania. This role involves developing and maintaining relationships with healthcare providers, educating referrers and patients about rehabilitation services, and ensuring smooth transitions for patients. The liaison will also analyze referral trends and work independently while traveling extensively within assigned territories.

Requirements

  • Diploma in Nursing or any clinical program required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 2-4 years of experience in an acute care or healthcare setting with direct clinical skills required.
  • Prior experience in case management, marketing, and/or a clinical liaison role preferred.
  • Knowledge of acute rehabilitation preferred.
  • Previous experience working independently and the ability to make independent decisions required.
  • Driver's License required.
  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), Registered Nurse (RN), or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) license strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and executes strategic referral marketing initiatives to increase admissions to the rehab hospital.
  • Tracks referral patterns and identifies opportunities to optimize referral capture.
  • Develops plans to build new and grow existing referral relationships.
  • Identifies potential new referral sources and understands the needs of systems, providers, and case managers.
  • Executes referral strategies to meet individual, department, and corporate goals.
  • Gathers, analyzes, and shares market intelligence.
  • Connects referral sources with key internal stakeholders to build trust and grow relationships.
  • Identifies and meets with potential referral sources, patients, and families.
  • Develops and presents educational in-services to potential referral sources including physicians, case managers, therapists, and insurance companies.
  • Educates potential patients/families about the rehabilitation program benefits and services of GSRH.
  • Serves as a rehabilitation consultant, focusing on rehabilitation potential, therapy progress, discharge plans, and special equipment needs.
  • Communicates with patients, families, case managers, and admissions office regarding transportation, family housing, medications, equipment, and special needs.
  • Provides potential patients and referral sources with up-to-date outcome information for GSRH and articulates how GSRH differentiates itself against competitors.
  • Tracks visits/calls and accurately reports scorecard numbers and referral trends.
  • Provides regular reports regarding outreach activities and business intelligence.
  • Analyzes referral trends and reports on performance.
  • Obtains referrals and gathers pertinent information to identify if the potential patient is appropriate for post-acute services.
  • Collects all needed documentation for liaison assessment, ensuring the patient is medically stable at the time of transfer.
  • Arranges for the admission of patients and assures all required pre-admission screening documentation is gathered and reviewed.
  • Determines that services are appropriate, reasonable, and necessary, providing recommendations for the appropriate level of care.
  • Contributes to team efforts by providing necessary information to facilitate referrals and admissions.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational seminars and participating in professional organizations.
  • Travels extensively to acute-care hospitals in an assigned territory to assess patients for potential admission.
