The purpose of this position is to provide management and oversight of regional scheduling, education, and onboarding of clinical staff. These tasks will be performed in a manner that supports regional quality patient care goals and conforms to DNV NIAHO standards.

Requirements

  • BSN required; MSN preferred.
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse without sanctions, required.
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association or Red Cross, required.
  • Current or must obtain PALS certification from American Heart Association or Red Cross, required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams), required.
  • Position requires fluency in English, written and oral communication.

Nice To Haves

  • 2+ years clinical educator experience, preferred.
  • 2+ years clinical experience in both ED and ICU/Step-down units, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with Market and Home Office leadership to evaluate and address the educational needs of the region.
  • Conduct learning needs assessment, evaluate educational needs of all clinical personnel and provide appropriate education.
  • Oversee continued employee training requirements and programs, such as safety and quality initiatives.
  • Guide staff in the development of their clinical skills and competencies.
  • In tandem with the Market and Home Office leadership, oversee and manage Health Stream assignments.
  • Implement, conduct, coordinate, and manage new hire on-boarding in conjunction with Human Resources.
  • Responsible for managing, evaluating, and recording on the job training documents.
  • Manage, coordinate, conduct, and maintain annual competencies for all clinical staff.
  • Collaborate with HealthStream to coordinate the onsite manikins for: ACLS, BLS, and PALS provided through the Red Cross.
  • Participate in assessing and evaluating the quality of clinical care given by employees.
  • Work in tandem with all ancillary services to maintain knowledge and proficiency in department procedures.
  • Oversee education program for low volume high risk patients/procedures.
  • Maintain knowledge and proficiency of EMR to provide necessary training.
  • Maintain proficiency in ED and Inpatient unit to provide relevant education.
  • Adhere to required infection control, isolation procedures, and aseptic techniques in the delivery of patient care.
  • Coordinate education related to new products, equipment, and clinical rollouts.
  • Work a minimum of one (1) 12‑hour Registered Nurse clinical shift per week.
  • Deliver age‑specific, developmentally appropriate nursing care using advanced clinical knowledge and skills.
  • Ensure patient comfort, safety, and dignity always.
  • Accurately and consistently document patient care in the medical record.
  • Observe and document patient signs, symptoms, behaviors, and physiological status.
  • Communicate and propose care plan revisions and desired outcomes to physicians.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and patient privacy.
  • Execute physician orders safely and appropriately.
  • Collect laboratory specimens and perform testing in accordance with COLA and CLIA regulations.
  • Perform admission, discharge, and transfer procedures.
  • Participate in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care.
  • Assemble equipment and supplies for diagnostic and treatment procedures and assist as needed.
  • Deliver care in compliance with legal, facility, departmental, and Board of Nursing standards.
  • Ensure safe handling and preparation of food for patients.
  • Attend staff meetings or other company sponsored or mandated meetings as required.
  • Travel to all facility locations as required.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
  • Ability to work off-hours and on call when required.
  • Perform all Quality Assessment activities assigned and document.
