About The Position

Big Bend Hospice (BBH) is your “Hometown Hospice,” providing compassionate end-of-life care for over 40 years to the Big Bend region. Guided by our values of integrity, respect, and excellence, we are seeking an experienced and dynamic RN Regional Clinical Director to provide leadership across multiple interdisciplinary teams (IDTs) within our new service area in the Panhandle Western Region (Central-Time). The ideal candidate is a strategic and people-focused clinical leader who excels at balancing patient care excellence with operational oversight and community engagement. This individual serves as both a regional clinical leader and ambassador for BBH, driving quality outcomes, supporting team development, and strengthening referral relationships to support growth and continuity of care.

Requirements

  • Active Florida Registered Nurse (RN) license required
  • Minimum of two (2) years hospice experience preferred
  • Strong clinical judgment and leadership skills
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to influence, educate, and build relationships with diverse stakeholders
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to manage competing priorities across multiple teams and locations
  • Comfortable working in both clinical and business development environments
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and electronic medical record (EMR) systems
  • Ability to remain effective in high-stress clinical or operational situations
  • Ability to meet travel requirements within the assigned region
  • Current Florida Driver’s License
  • Valid auto insurance and reliable transportation

Nice To Haves

  • Background in oncology, home health, or acute/medical-surgical nursing preferred
  • Prior leadership, supervisory, or multi-site management experience strongly preferred
  • Experience in provider education, community outreach, or healthcare relationship management preferred
  • (BSN Preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Provides leadership and oversight of multiple interdisciplinary teams (IDTs) across an assigned region
  • Ensures consistent application of BBH policies, procedures, and clinical standards across all locations
  • Directs hospice operations in alignment with state, federal, and accreditation standards (CMS, Medicare, Joint Commission, etc.)
  • Provides clinical oversight and ensures timely, accurate, and compliant documentation
  • Monitors patient acuity, staffing patterns, and operational needs to proactively address care gaps
  • Oversees patient admissions and care planning to ensure a smooth and efficient intake process
  • Collaborates with Admissions, On-Call, Referral, and Business Development teams to ensure seamless care transitions
  • Oversees IDT workflows including scheduling, team meetings, documentation compliance, and patient care levels
  • Provides consultation, mentorship, and clinical support to IDT members on symptom management, compliance, and best practices
  • Coaches, mentors, and provides performance feedback to clinical staff and direct reports
  • Supports recruitment, onboarding, training, and retention of clinical team members
  • Conducts field supervisory visits and documentation reviews to identify strengths and opportunities for improvement
  • Participates in continuous quality improvement (CQI) initiatives, including data collection and implementation of improvement strategies
  • Promotes professional development, certification, and continuing education across the team
  • Serves as a clinical liaison and educator to physicians, hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, and community partners
  • Actively supports census growth through collaboration with Professional Relations and Business Development teams
  • Participates in community outreach, education, and events to promote hospice services
  • Provides clinical education and in-services to referral sources and healthcare partners
  • Monitors financial performance including staffing, payroll, supply costs, and overall resource utilization
  • Maintains strong relationships with physicians, referral sources, and the community
  • Identifies regional trends, referral opportunities, and service gaps through clinical and community insights
  • Facilitates collaboration between clinical, operational, and business development teams
  • Promotes a culture of accountability, teamwork, and respectful communication
  • Represents Big Bend Hospice at community and professional events
  • Participates in on-call rotation and supports after-hours operations as needed
  • Performs other duties as assigned
