Requirements

Valid Illinois CDL-A license
2+ years of driving experience
Clean driving record
Basic knowledge of FMCSA regulations (Sec. 177 & 383-396)
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Must pass a DOT physical and drug test
Strong work ethic, professionalism, and communication skills
Drivers are expected to maintain a clean, professional appearance and good personal hygiene while representing Mel-O-Cream
Ability to use email and basic navigation tools

Responsibilities

Safely operate a truck (26,000+ GVW) for regional deliveries
Transport Mel-O-Cream products to grocery warehouses and distributors
Pick up and backhaul ingredients or materials used in donut production when assigned
Load and unload products, verify counts, and complete delivery paperwork
Maintain accurate electronic logs (ELDs)
Perform daily pre- and post-trip inspections
Keep your assigned truck clean and well-maintained
Provide courteous, professional customer service at every stop
Weekly route schedules will be posted about a week in advance, although they may be subject to change
Expect to be away from home for approximately 2 nights a week, with occasional Sunday departures
