The Controller is expected to oversee, manage and direct all dealership accounting, compliance that conform to all generally accepted accounting principles, group policies, and regulatory requirements. The role involves educating employees on all applicable and current company procedures, policies, and benefits, seeking ways to improve business operation efficiencies and customer service, and being a teacher to support the efforts of other employees to be successful. The Controller will report to the Regional Controller and is responsible for maximizing profit retention, financial reporting, and personnel administration. This includes assisting to achieve or exceed profit standards, overseeing the activities of the Accounting Department, ensuring accuracy and timely management of all aging components, and discussing emerging compliance issues. The position also involves developing employees, operating with integrity, and maintaining a positive work environment.

  • Analyze and secure all business licenses and maintain tax records.
  • Provide ongoing employee training on compliance-related topics.
  • Develop employees through effective recruitment, hiring, training, and management.
  • Maintain ethical standards and a positive work environment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of office management experience.
  • Automotive controller experience desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of ledger, accounts receivable, payroll, income tax, and banking.
  • Valid driver's license and MVR record within company policy requirements.
  • Knowledge of Larry H. Miller Dealerships' current company management systems.
  • Experience in auto dealership accounting.
