About The Position

The Asset Protection Manager will be the primary subject matter expert in regards to the training, auditing, and investigatory needs of Dollar General. Their key efforts are to reduce shrinkage and increase profitability through proactive training mediums, standardized audits and the resolution of internal and external investigations. The role involves developing communication with Operations to support business dialogue, conducting training for loss prevention, performing audits, analyzing loss trends, investigating suspicious losses, and managing physical security programs.

Requirements

  • Demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrate ability to facilitate group training sessions.
  • Analytical skills sufficient to conduct research and interpret information.
  • Investigation, interview and interrogation skills (Wicklander & Zulawski or Reid Training required - CFI preferred).
  • Financial analysis skills sufficient to interpret operating statements and other financial data.
  • Basic computer proficiency with applications such as Microsoft Office.
  • Familiarity with exception based management software applications.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Retail operations experience preferred.
  • Progressive experience in a retail loss prevention position(s).
  • Three + years of multi-store experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and foster an open line of communication with Operations to support all levels of business dialogue.
  • Act as subject matter expert on all store systems related to inventory movement and associated functions that can cause shrink.
  • Conduct shrink awareness and loss prevention training to the retail store group.
  • Assist in the development and execution of training mediums to promote store shrink prevention awareness.
  • Implement and manage the company's High Shrink Action Plan program within designated stores.
  • Perform shrink and loss prevention audits; report results and make recommendations.
  • Utilize audit results to focus training efforts to decrease shrink risk.
  • Understand, implement and utilize exception-based software to identify potential loss issues.
  • Monitor stores' compliance with established policies and procedures.
  • Analyze and investigate inventory shrinkages; determine causes and participate in initiatives to resolve issues.
  • Actively investigate any concerns related to suspicious losses.
  • Serve as a liaison with law enforcement to recover merchandise or cash.
  • Be the subject matter expert for all physical security programs and processes.
