About The Position

The Regional Area Director - Extended Stay Brands drives performance results across a portfolio of franchisee ownership groups, property management companies (PMCs), and larger ownership entities. This role focuses on revenue growth, quality assurance, guest satisfaction, market share, and profitability. Acting as a trusted advisor, the Regional Area Director influences operational excellence, supports new hotel openings, and ensures integration into Choice systems. This is an individual contributor role with significant operational consulting responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive multi-unit hotel operations leadership experience
  • Extensive multi-unit operations management and/or sales leadership experience required.
  • Strong understanding of revenue management principles.
  • Proven ability to influence and consult with senior-level stakeholders.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and travel extensively (up to 70%).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and related business software.

  • Familiarity with hospitality systems and technology platforms preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Drive Portfolio Performance
  • Improve unit-level revenue results and optimize market share performance through proactive consulting and relationship management with franchisees and PMCs.
  • Ensure effectiveness of local sales and revenue management activities.
  • Track and improve GOP performance through best practice consultations.
  • Support brand program execution and guest experience improvement initiatives.
  • Oversee New Hotel Openings & Ramp Performance
  • Partner with ownership groups and Opening Services to ensure successful, on-schedule openings and ramp-up performance.
  • Develop pre-opening sales and marketing plans.
  • Optimize market segmentation strategies and minimize OTA contribution.
  • Influence Guest Experience Improvement
  • Monitor guest feedback and quality assurance outcomes to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Promote proactive engagement in guest relations and training compliance.
  • Encourage property-level training through ChoiceU resources.
  • Technology Integration & Training
  • Support integration of Choice technology platforms and training initiatives for owners and PMCs.
  • Collaborate with technology teams on implementation and reporting requirements.
