Regional Advisor II (Brazos Valley)

About The Position

The Regional Advisor II is responsible for the development and implementation of admission, financial aid, and early outreach strategies that enhance the identification, recruitment and enrollment of prospective students interested in attending Texas A&M. This role serves as mentor and trainer for other staff and serve as lead on select recruitment programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Two years of professional experience in a higher education admissions, recruitment, student advising, student financial aid or student services related position.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, verbal and written communication skills with individuals or in a group setting.
  • Must possess strong organizational skills.
  • Working knowledge of standard office equipment and computers.
  • Ability to work well with students and parents.
  • Ability to use spreadsheet programs.
  • Knowledge of financial aid programs and federal regulations relating to student financial aid.
  • Ability to work as a team member in a dynamic organization.
  • Customer- service oriented.
  • Must be literate in the English language and able to comprehend and follow both written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to perform accurately in a detail-oriented environment with good interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to organize and make decisions.
  • Ability to multi task and work cooperatively with others.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree.
  • More than two years of professional experience in higher education admissions, recruitment, student advising, student financial aid or student services related position.
  • A Class "C" vehicle driver license or ability to obtain one within 30 days of employment.
  • Professional experience in higher education.
  • Professional experience within TAMUS.
  • Customer service experience, particularly within higher education.
  • Working experience with youth populations in admissions, recruitment, or financial aid.
  • Experience in giving presentations to large groups.
  • Experience in producing reports of the analysis and evaluation of activities.
  • Participation in Texas Association for College Admission Counseling (TACAC) or Texas Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (TACRAO) programs or other professional organizations related to admissions, recruitment, student advising, student financial aid or student services.
