Formulates and implements recruitment plans to enroll qualified students from a specific geographic territory to become part of the Drury University student body. Builds external relations with influential constituents (alumni, school officials, etc.) from designated territory. Participates with management in establishing short and long term objectives for the territory and the department. This position will live within the assigned territory and will be responsible for the establishment of a home office. Manages a specific geographic territory by identifying and developing relationships with qualified prospective students, their families, high school counselors, teachers, principals, and alumni resulting in increased numbers of qualified students enrolling at Drury University from the territory. This includes strategic planning and market research for the recruitment region, in accordance with the University’s strategic planning objectives and academic requirements. Anticipates and evaluates competitive educational opportunities and distinguishes Drury’s opportunities from its competitors. Using personalized communication techniques, advises prospective students, parents, and high school counselors on academic and co-curricular opportunities at Drury University. Plans, manages, and executes all Admission-related travel programs for the designated territory, including phone, postal, and e-communication strategies, visits high schools, college fairs, information sessions, alumni/parent activities, and Summer Send-offs. Provides the primary contact to constituents in the designated territory on behalf of the University. This includes training and oversight as it pertains to the above items for Admission Counselors and travel implementation. Evaluates academic and personal achievements of applicants for admission to determine admissibility to the University; evaluates candidates for scholarship programs; regularly and customarily uses discretion and independent judgment to make decisions on admissibility or denial of candidates and other matters of significance, including contribution to the Admission Committee Review process; recommends funding levels for scholarship candidates; participates in the final admission decision process in consultation with the Dean of Admission Executive Director of Admissions for candidates from the counselor’s territory. Performs other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor, including regular updates about travel and other initiatives.
