About The Position

Regional Administrator I Summary: To provide administrative support for the regional office, acting as liaison between the regional director and area offices in communicating mission policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • BA or BS preferred with at least three years as an administrative assistant with a large company or large church/ministry involving office management, public contact, and research and writing experience.
  • Three to five years of administrator experience with proven knowledge of Young Life culture and policies.
  • Knowledgeable on office management and supervisory techniques; able to plan the work of others.
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and processes, with the capability of handling concurrent tasks and constant interruptions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to type 75 to 100 wpm with few errors.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (which includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Basic accounting skills.
  • Ability to establish effective working relationships with Young Life field staff and offer excellence in customer service to Young Life staff and the public.
  • Proven relational skills with both kids and adults.
  • Great customer service skills.

Responsibilities

  • Answer correspondence, do filing, and send mailings.
  • Answer phones.
  • Written and Verbal Communication Respond to voicemail, e-mail, and phone calls in a timely and professional manner.
  • Communicate new mission policies and procedures to regional staff in a timely and professional manner.
  • Analyze and interpret policies and guidelines set up by the regional director and/or the administrative offices of the Service Center and resolve problems and questions in the absence of the regional director.
  • Interaction with all area and regional staff, volunteers, area and regional committees, and regional management teams.
  • Administration Event Planning Training
  • Process and track donations.
  • Maintain donor and leader databases, ensuring area leader forms, driver questionnaires, and background checks are up to date.
  • Manage monthly expenses and budgets, including regional bank account records/ purchase card expenses, FDT, and regional and staff expense reports.
  • Provide personnel support for regional staff, including Human Resources and personnel action requests.
  • Coordinate regional fundraising events and other regional events.
  • Provide annual camping administration.
  • Assist the regional director with the workload.
  • Maintain, organize, and facilitate monthly deadlines, including camp and work crew allocation, annual budgets, and compensation.
  • Provide staff care, including birthdays, monthly reports, and assignment care packages.
  • Verify regional statistics electronically via the Growth Planning Software (GPS) system.
  • Facilitate paperwork to open and close area ministries across the region.
  • Manage and execute area transfers.
  • Manage the Mission Security application for staff within the region.
  • Serve as a liaison between the staff and the Service Center, explaining policy and forms, etc.
  • Plan, coordinate and facilitate regional events including: Regional staff training days Committee chair days Regional meetings Regional camps Leadership weekends
  • Provide Administrative training to all staff and volunteers within the region, with various Young Life processes, programs, and applications.
  • Contact and PR work.
  • Assist with additional work from the area and regional staff.
