About The Position

Region Vice Presidents (RVPs) are responsible for leading a team of Sr. Executive and Executive Directors that deliver measurable impact to the daily lives of those with arthritis in their assigned communities by effectively partnering with volunteer leaders to implement Live Yes! Arthritis Network strategies. RVPs ensure sound plans of work are in place that provide for scalable conversion of Information Seekers to engaged, fundraising Participants. RVPs move volunteer leaders along the development pathway to levels of increasing responsibility within the organization, oversee relationships with high-impact partners in their region and open doors to new, untapped markets. RVPs work in concert with an externally facing team of Home Office partners that augment the training and resourcing provided to communities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in related discipline with a minimum of 10 years of progressive non-profit experience leading staff and partnering with volunteers.
  • Successful track record of attracting and retaining high performing teams of both volunteers and staff and marshaling their passion toward organizational objectives.
  • A history of leading change in complex, dynamic and entrepreneurial environments.
  • An established network and partnership building track record, including experience interfacing with diverse C-suite leaders.
  • Demonstrated community building experience centered on engaging local volunteers to deploy events and activities.

Responsibilities

  • Attract and grow a high-performing team of Executive Directors that understands the volunteer-staff partnership and how to accelerate growth in a volunteer-driven culture.
  • Ensures that key volunteer leadership positions are filled at the community level and builds a robust base of dynamic Leadership Boards by recruiting a strong slate of Board Chairs.
  • Increases the number of productive and effective volunteers by elevating future leaders to growth opportunities at the state or national level.
  • Collaborates with Regional Volunteer Leaders to coach community staff & volunteers on the strategies and components of the LYAN in order to help gain traction where needed. Monitors KPIs for all assigned communities, proactively course-correcting where necessary to ensure growth of the LYAN.
  • Serves as chief architect of Region’s annual planning process with volunteers and staff, ensuring sound plans of work are established which (a) define community agendas, (b) reflect adoption of the essential LYAN components while also fostering ingenuity; (c) provide for increased levels of volunteer capacity; and, (d) enable scalable conversion of Information Seekers to engaged Participants in support of revenue targets.
  • Develops strong relationships with major donors, corporate partners, healthcare providers and other key constituents across the region to increase capacity and impact.
  • Ensures Home Office partners are viewed as an extension of the support available to local communities by working to collaboratively leverage and integrate training and resourcing provided.
  • Continually sources and cultivates bases of new volunteers to open untapped markets and expand the Foundation’s reach.
  • Acts as a key communications champion to the Region, representing the vision and mission of the Arthritis Foundation.
