About The Position

The Region Manager for Weyerhaeuser's Southern Timberlands Business is responsible for overseeing the Mississippi/Alabama region, which encompasses approximately 1 million acres. This role involves leading the regional team, managing the region's P&L, and ensuring alignment with the company's strategic vision. The position requires significant travel (approximately 50%) and collaboration with various functional directors to promote a safe and sustainable work environment while meeting customer commitments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Forestry or related field with at least 8 years of experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to budget, plan, and manage large projects and initiatives.
  • Proven experience in situational management, coaching/counseling, and team building.
  • Ability to lead initiatives that maximize shareholder value.
  • Ability to work effectively across organizational boundaries with diverse teams.
  • Excellent communication, time management, and persuasion skills.
  • Strong computer skills, including GIS and Microsoft Office software.
  • Demonstrated team and leadership skills.
  • Understanding of customer value delivery expectations.
  • Experience in developing and executing best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Promote a safe and sustainable work environment and ensure alignment with business policies.
  • Manage the Region's P&L and forecasting.
  • Assess organizational needs and verify cross-functional checks and balances.
  • Represent the regional team and communicate key business information.
  • Monitor and establish short-term production rate targets for contract operations.
  • Ensure customer commitments are met.
  • Manage people and develop the regional team.
  • Participate in the development of regional functional strategy and continuous improvement roadmaps.
  • Support regional functional leads and other Weyerhaeuser businesses.
