Michelin North America, Inc. has an immediate opening for a Corporate Security Director covering all entities under the Region’s responsibility. This role works to protect the company's assets, information, and personnel, ensuring a safe and secure environment across all corporate and manufacturing sites; responsible for supporting the implementation and observance of the Michelin Group’s security policies and procedures. The Opportunity The Region Corporate Security Director serves as a strategic leader responsible for coordinating and advancing the organization's security operations in North America. This role ensures the protection of personnel, assets, and information across all North American sites. The Security Director leads a high-performing team, drives enterprise-wide risk mitigation strategies, and partners with executive leadership to align security initiatives with business objectives. This position is based at our headquarters is in Greenville, SC, conveniently located within driving distance to east coast beaches, the Blue Ridge Mountains and large cities like Atlanta and Charlotte. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Criminal Justice, Security Management, or related field is required (Master’s preferred).
  • 15+ years of progressive experience in corporate security, law enforcement, or military leadership, including 5+ years in an executive or senior leadership role.
  • Proven experience managing large-scale security operations across multiple geographies.
  • Expertise in physical security systems, threat assessment, crisis management, and adherence to legal requirements.
  • Demonstrated outstanding leadership, communication, and careful project planning skills along with extensive experience in employee management.
  • This position requires travel across North America and France.
  • After-hours response to critical incidents across the region may be necessary.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional certifications such as CPP (Certified Protection Professional), PSP (Physical Security Professional), or CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional) highly recommended.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive corporate security strategy aligned with organizational goals.
  • Serve as the primary advisor to executive leadership on security-related matters, including but not limited to, security risk management, crisis response, and regulatory compliance.
  • Lead enterprise-wide initiatives to improve physical security, threat intelligence, and emergency mitigation.
  • Coordinate the development of security policies, standards, and governance frameworks.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of regional security specialists that provide support throughout North America.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and professional development within the security organization based upon the values and principles endorsed by the company.
  • Manage departmental budget, staffing plans, and performance metrics.
  • Provide guidance and oversight with the integration of security operations and infrastructure across all facilities, including access control, surveillance, and incident response.
  • Conduct and assist with direct investigations through the partnership with subject matter experts into security breaches, workplace violence, and misconduct.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, federal, and international regulations as they relate specifically to security.
  • Lead and monitor the relationships with security vendors to evaluate the required performance of security service providers and their technology platforms.
  • Executive protection.
  • Partner with and support the Risk Manager through a unified approach in conducting risk assessments and the implementation of mitigation strategies.
  • Provide security expertise during the handling of critical incidents and natural disasters.
  • Assist in crafting business continuity plans that require a security element or focus during incidents involving natural disasters or criminal incidents involving mass casualty.
  • Collaborate with internal partners including HR, Legal, IT, Compliance, Risk Management, and Facilities to ensure integrated security solutions.
  • Build relationships with external agencies including law enforcement, emergency services, and regulatory bodies at the local, state, and federal levels.
  • Provide regular reports and strategic updates as necessary to the region leadership and to other leadership at the Group Level.
