About The Position

The Reg Rad Tech performs age-specific radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures for diagnosing and treating anatomic and physiologic disorders. Assists in supervising ancillary personnel.

Requirements

• Associate Degree in Radiologic Sciences or Radiologic Technology program required.
• Current registry/or registry pending with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, RT(R).
• Current radiation operator's certification (general or temporary license) issued by the Commonwealth of Kentucky required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification within 90 days of the hire date required.
• Previous radiologic experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Reviews physician orders, checking for special instructions, consults with the radiologist when necessary, greets and identifies the patient, and explains the procedure to the patient and/or family member.
• Performs appropriate radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures based on the age of the patient served.
• Maintains an adequate inventory of supplies for the assigned workstation, equipment maintenance, and quality control.
• Updates patient history, records unusual conditions, documents examination time, and verifies the accuracy of procedures to be billed.
• Utilizes department/hospital communication equipment and/or procedures.
• Provides instruction for students, radiologic technologists, and others as required or requested.
