About The Position

Position Summary: The Nuclear Medicine Technologist operates complex equipment to produce high quality images. This individual collaborates with the Radiologist, the manager, and the staff in developing, implementing and evaluating department procedures and protocols. This position has direct patient care, access to confidential patient information and makes decisions independently and in collaboration with the Radiologist, the manager and the staff. This individual works under the indirect supervision of the Radiology Manager.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an Accredited Program in Nuclear Medicine
  • Registered in Nuclear Medicine Technology by the ARRT or the Nuclear Medicine Technology certification Board and current licensure in the State of Ohio.
  • BLS - Basic Life Support.
  • De-escalation training within 6 months.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Human anatomy, venipuncture, and Radiation Protection Standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with and communicate with others effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn and apply new skills as necessary.
  • Demonstrated strong commitment to patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Operates complex equipment to produce high quality images.
  • Collaborates with the Radiologist, the manager, and the staff in developing, implementing and evaluating department procedures and protocols.
  • Complies with departmental, state, and federal regulations/protocols for receipt, storage, handling, dosage, and disposal of Radiopharmaceutical material.
  • Accurate and complete quality control records relative to department, state and federal guidelines.
  • Communication and documentation of all variations from protocol.
  • Communication and documentation of equipment variations
  • Interventions with patients/families of all age groups: infant, child, adolescent, adult, geriatric.
  • Utilizes effective communication to ensure customer identification, education, safety and satisfaction.
  • Organized, timely, and accurate completion of procedures and procedural documentation relative to department standards.
