About The Position

Registered Dietitian II - Pediatric ICU (PICU) We are seeking a full-time Registered Dietitian at Burnet Campus, working in our brand-new Critical Care Building. If you are a RD with critical care experience, this may be the position for you! Over 632,000 square feet are dedicated to critical care medicine. Family-Centered Care: Dietitians work alongside a medical team of doctors, nurses, and other allied health professionals. We take into account the family's community setting and culture and how family members interact with nutrition and health. Schedule: Full-time schedule, Day shift, Monday-Friday. Possible weekend coverage. $5.00/hour Weekend Differential on qualified hours. Clinical Ladder: Designed to advance and recognize the knowledge, skills, experience, and leadership abilities of the staff within the Nutrition Therapy Division. Promotional pay opportunities. Benefits and Paid Time Off: Benefits start immediately. 35 days of PTO each year; unused PTO rolls over. Pay Range: $62,000-$95,000 annually, as a salaried/exempt employee. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in nutrition required.
  • 2+ years of relevant experience.
  • Registered and Licensed Dietitian in the State of Ohio

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Critical care experience a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform nutritional assessments for patients.
  • Anticipate how diseases and therapies will impact nutrition, and develop complex care plans using current or new nutrition standards.
  • Recommend adjustments to meet the needs of both patient and family.
  • Critically evaluate which interventions are most likely to promote positive outcomes.
  • Collaborate with team members to initiate and coordinate care plans.
  • Individualize nutrition counseling and education for patients, families, and care providers.
  • Help and support patients and families that are preparing for transition to home.
  • Develop educational materials.
  • Incorporate current research into clinical practice and share relevant information with peers.
  • Identify learning needs for nutrition staff, health care team members and community and initiate education activities.
  • Identify and meet ongoing learning needs of diet technicians and/or interns.
  • Function as a preceptor in orientation and education of new dietitians.
  • Generate performance improvement activities and documents activities for reports.
  • Complete productivity records and enters charges in a timely fashion.
  • Participate on a committee and/or work group affecting the department, hospital and/or community.
  • Demonstrate in-depth knowledge and personal experience in contributions to professional knowledge.
  • Assist other members by educating, providing resources and consulting on difficult cases.
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary care team, diet technicians and others to complete daily patient care responsibilities.
  • Partner with coworkers and health care professionals to provide valuable input on projects.
