Thanks for your commitment to Tyson Foods. Management Level: Class 1 This position is slated for team members who are currently working at this facility or complex only. Team members interested in transferring into this position from another Tyson facility should express interest through their local HR Partner. Position Summary: This position is a discretionary position. This position will monitor, control, troubleshoot, repair and maintain all refrigeration equipment, steam generating equipment, compressed air systems, water supply and distribution systems, return condensate systems, mechanically, electrically, hydraulically and pneumatically using the proper tools and test equipment.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 6 months of mechanic work experience documented in the work history section of the application or be a graduate of an industrial maintenance training program (can be a combination of employers as long as experience is at least 6 months).
  • Internal Requirements at the Time of Application New hires are not eligible to use the bidding process until they have been employed for a period of six (6) months or more.
  • Team Members who bid on and receive a posted job, must stay on that job for twelve (12) months from the date the Team Member is notified by the Company of the successful bid.
  • Team Members may, however, bid on jobs six (6) months after the Team Member is notified.
  • Should no Team Member with twelve (12) months on the job bid for an opening, the Team Member with at least six (6) months on the job who bid for that opening will be considered for the opening.
  • Transfers from labor grades 5 through 8 require Company approval if the requesting Team Member has less than twelve (12) months on the job.
  • The six (6) and twelve (12) month bar to job bidding shall not apply where a Team Member’s job has been eliminated.

Responsibilities

  • Complete all utilities maintenance.
  • Perform all necessary documentation of activities.
  • Install equipment on all utility systems.
  • Perform general housekeeping duties in the department.
  • Keep all work areas clean.
  • Comply with all safety, food safety, GMP and SQF requirements.
  • Ability and willingness to perform basic math functions (i.e.: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
  • Ability and willingness to work overtime and/or weekends as needed.
  • Ability and willingness to work on demand in emergency situations.
  • Ability and willingness to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions.
  • Able to complete all paperwork CMMS/SAP functions.
  • Perform all positions of job rotation as needed.
  • Perform any other work as assigned by management.
