You’ll help install, maintain, and repair facility equipment and systems—including machinery, building structures, plumbing, electrical, and basic HVAC—while following all company safety and regulatory guidelines. This is an entry-level role where hands-on training is provided to help you build your technical skills and grow within the maintenance team. We’re looking for someone who is mechanically inclined and interested in learning the basics of maintenance. Candidates with HVAC schooling or an EPA Universal certification are encouraged to apply. As you grow in the role, you’ll also have the opportunity to attend ammonia refrigeration training to expand your knowledge and advance your career. Key Responsibilities Assist with basic preventative maintenance and minor repairs on facility equipment, building systems, and exterior grounds with guidance and support from the maintenance team. Support routine inspections of refrigeration systems while learning from experienced team members. Assist with preventative maintenance on material handling equipment according to manufacturer and company guidelines to help keep operations running safely and efficiently. Help with other maintenance tasks and projects as assigned. Additional Responsibilities Use power tools and welding equipment to cut or join metal parts when needed. Safely operate motorized lifts and rental equipment while helping inspect, maintain, and calibrate facility equipment. What We’re Looking For Trade school coursework or some experience in refrigeration/HVAC systems (ammonia, Freon, or CO₂) is strongly preferred. EPA Universal certification preferred. Interest in learning and performing routine preventative maintenance with training and supervision. Comfortable using hand and power tools. Basic computer skills. Strong communication skills and the ability to work with team members across the facility. Good attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and stay organized. Physical & Work Environment Comfortable working in temperature-controlled environments, which may include freezer areas as cold as -20°F or warmer dry storage areas up to 100°F, while wearing company-provided protective gear. Ability to lift 50 lbs. or more, depending on the facility. Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including weekends when needed. Some locations may have higher noise levels during operations.
