About The Position

Primarily responsible for maintaining, operating, inspecting, and repairing various types of ammonia refrigeration equipment for a poultry processing plant. This role involves performing preventative and predictive maintenance, periodically testing and inspecting equipment to ensure it operates within manufacturer’s specifications and tolerances, and troubleshooting and repairing equipment problems as needed. All work must comply with company policies, NCC Animal Welfare Guidelines, and local, state, and federal policies, laws, and regulations. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Required to pass NOCTI HVAC/Refrigeration test, Level I.
  • Intermediate math and computer skills.
  • Basic understanding of ammonia refrigeration equipment.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical and general mechanical systems.
  • Ability to work unsupervised and self-motivate.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays and extended shift hours.
  • Sound work ethic, honesty and moral character.
  • Follow departmental and company safety policies and programs.
  • Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times in areas where required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the daily operations of the ammonia refrigeration compressor room.
  • Take and record required system readings.
  • Understand the implications of variances and report to appropriate personnel/leader.
  • Perform basic maintenance as directed.
  • Identify unsafe conditions and report to appropriate personnel.
  • Work in compliance with all company policies, NCC Animal Welfare Guidelines and local, state and federal policies, laws and regulations.
  • All other duties as assigned.
