About The Position

We are hiring a Refrigerator Technician /Commercial Kitchens (Union Local 32BJ) to join our Engineering Team. The Refrigerator Technician /Commercial Kitchens will install new refrigeration systems, perform equipment maintenance, troubleshoot mechanical issues, track and complete work orders. In addition, the Refrigeration Technician installs, repairs and maintains equipment and service standards with limited-service downtime.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Previous experience as a Refrigeration Technician
• HVAC certification
• CFC certification

• Braising and soldering skills
• Knowledge of local building codes
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and compliance schematics
• Advanced mechanical and diagnostic skills
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work outdoors in extreme weather conditions
• Able to lift heavy equipment

Responsibilities

• Processing and completing work orders
• Contacting clients to ascertain their equipment needs
• Ordering equipment supplies and repair modules for the order
• Reading and interpreting blueprints and compliance schematics
• Installing climate control systems, refrigeration units, and beverage equipment
• Observing and testing newly installed systems
• Troubleshooting refrigeration equipment failures
• Maintaining stock levels
• Replacing worn seals, outer shells, and worn-out motors
• Informing clients of repair costs and alternative cooling options
• The successful candidate will be required to adhere to the terms of an existing Union Agreement (Local 32BJ)
• Managing special projects as assigned by Director of Engineering
