Our team is growing, and we are seeking a skilled, driven, and safety-oriented Refrigeration Manager to provide top grade service to Save A Lot grocery stores based in our Philadelphia, and Greater New Jersey region. This role will be responsible for the install, testing, repair, upgrade and continuous maintenance of our refrigeration systems. Requirements

  • High School or Equivalent - Required
  • Universal CFC licensing (REQUIRED)
  • EPA license
  • Valid driver's license with ability to be insured under company insurance policy
  • Knowledge about all components of refrigeration systems including tools, materials, and test equipment
  • Knowledge of installation, repair and maintenance techniques and ability to carry out these functions.
  • Knowledge of diagnostic and troubleshooting techniques
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams
  • Knowledge and understanding of compliance standards, and local building codes
  • Ability to manage and communicate around mission-critical business items to executive management
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree Preferred
  • 5+ years of progressive residential and/or commercial electrical installation or refrigeration experience (Preferred)
  • Previous experience with HVAC controls wiring for low voltage wiring (Preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for refrigeration services within the company
  • Plan, assign, inspect and supervise maintenance, repair and construction activities; maintain records and files; prepare reports
  • Assign and distribute work orders and work requests.
  • Assist in budget planning and preparation.
  • Inform supervisors of completed and outstanding work orders.
  • Determine time and cost estimates for HVAC jobs.
  • Provide technical support, service and start up for refrigeration projects
  • Oversee contractors verifying proper installation of refrigeration and HVAC equipment.
  • Help reduce product loss with monitoring refrigeration temperatures
  • Install refrigeration equipment per proper code
  • Read and analyze blueprints and wiring diagrams
  • Respond to a heavy workload of service calls in a professional manner and effectively prioritize
  • Follow and utilize troubleshooting guides to identify problems in a timely manner
  • Consistently monitor system operations and safety and limit controls before leaving locations
  • Perform proper runs of line sets
  • Upgrade systems to satisfy new regulations or meet new standards
  • Complete necessary paperwork accurately and timely
  • Document and track preventive maintenance activities.
  • Maintain accurate and complete list of job materials used
  • Maintain knowledge of local/national codes and industry standards
  • Cooperate with others when required to solve problems
  • Consistently maintain a safe, professional work area
  • Apply active listening skills when communicating with colleagues and vendors
  • Communicate effectively with others, regardless of their level of technical knowledge: can explain the cause of the problem and the remedy; if problem has not been repaired, offer explanation of situation, and recommended next steps
  • Assist with Energy Management projects
  • Address all questions and concerns before leaving a work site
  • Manage assigned vehicle within all company guidelines
  • Maintain a clean vehicle, and ensure timely maintenance is performed
  • Keep abreast of technical knowledge and developments regarding equipment and concepts
  • Notify supervisor of new developments, changes, or issues
  • Demonstrate high degree of technical competency
  • Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
