About The Position

The position involves overseeing the powerhouse and refrigeration departments to ensure optimal facility operation. The individual will be responsible for scheduling personnel, preparing and supervising preventive maintenance schedules, and reviewing utilities reports. The role requires addressing operational issues, ensuring compliance with OSHA and PSM standards, and training personnel in equipment operation. Additionally, the position includes managing the maintenance budget for refrigeration and overseeing projects related to the plant ammonia system.

Requirements

• Minimum of technical school training or high school with comparable experience.
• BS/BA Degree in Applied Sciences such as Poultry Science, Animal Science or Biology preferred.
• Minimum of 5 - 10 years in ammonia refrigeration experience.
• Demonstrated ability to train and supervise subordinates.
• Ability to work well with management personnel.
• Computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• SAP experience preferred.
• Ability to work all days/shifts as needed.

• RETA certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Schedules powerhouse and refrigeration personnel for optimal facility operation.
• Prepares and supervises preventive maintenance (PM) schedules for all systems under the powerhouse and ammonia refrigeration departments.
• Reviews utilities reports and addresses operational issues that could impact performance.
• Ensures compliance with OSHA and PSM standards in a timely manner.
• Trains personnel in proper equipment operation and works towards RETA certification for all reports.
• Manages and maintains the maintenance budget for refrigeration.
• Ensures all systems operate in compliance with OSHA, ASHRAE, and PSM policies and procedures.
• Schedules work crews for 24-hour coverage.
• Oversees all projects related to the plant ammonia system.
