About The Position

This position is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the refrigeration systems while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • 3 Months Industrial Maintenance Experience, Ammonia Refrigeration Maintenance or Trade School required.
  • Will also consider Completions of Industrial Maintenance or Ammonia refrigeration Maintenance Certification through a Technical School in Lieu of Experience.
  • Must be willing to learn Tyson SAP software to make work orders and fill out the daily documentation that is required in the system.
  • Must be willing to use math as needed to make work related computations for machinery, fluid capacities, etc.
  • Must be willing to lift up to 70 lbs. occasionally and be able to work on your feet, moving throughout the facility for a period of 12 hours.
  • Must be willing to work in temperatures ranging from about -10F through about 110F occasionally.
  • Must be willing to complete all required training for the job.
  • This job requires becoming HAZMAT certified and maintaining this qualification. This entails completing and passing a HAZMAT physical, pulmonary function test (lung capacity) and OSHA Respirator Medical Evaluation Questionnaire.
  • The applicant must maintain an attendance level below 7 points. If they accumulate 7 points or more while in the position, they will be offered any available vacancy in the production department.
  • Proficiency in reading and writing.
  • ability to complete on-the-job paperwork and effectively communicate across all management levels
  • The successful candidate(s) must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on electric pallet moving equipment.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on Industrial Refrigeration systems.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on building and grounds.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on batteries, battery chargers, battery racks, and carts as needed.
  • Train in Hazmat and safety procedures and be respirator certified.
  • Other duties as assigned.
