At Tyson Foods, all Team Members are expected to practice established safety standards, policies, and procedures, and all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) will be provided. This position is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the ammonia refrigeration system, HVAC systems, hot water, compressed air, waste treatment, and ensuring their safe and efficient operation. Applicants will be considered for the Refrigeration Maintenance opening on the night shift (12:00 AM–12:30 PM), with schedules subject to change based on posted shift needs. Refrigeration Maintenance team members are responsible for monitoring, adjusting, and maintaining the operation of the refrigeration system. This role requires completion of computer‑based training programs and the use of Tyson’s SAP software to document preventative maintenance tasks. Candidates must have basic electrical troubleshooting knowledge and the ability to repair mechanical equipment within assigned responsibilities. The position requires frequent bending, twisting, reaching, and movement around the department, including working near conveyor belts and machinery. Team members must be able to work in refrigerated environments ranging from 28 to 45 degrees Fahrenheit, lift up to 50 pounds daily, and stand for up to 12 hours. Overtime and weekend work may be required. This role also requires participation in hazmat response activities and passing an annual hazmat physical.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Must have a minimum of twelve (12) months of electromechanical experience OR be a graduate or current student of a U.S.-based industrial electromechanical technical training program (all certifications must be verifiable).
  • Basic electrical troubleshooting knowledge
  • Basic computer skills required.
  • Applicants must also be able to read, write, and interpret equipment manuals and technical instructions and communicate effectively in both verbal and written form.
  • They must be able and willing to complete all required computer‑based training and accurately document refrigeration‑related activities using company systems.

  • Internal candidates must be full‑time team members who have completed their probationary period.
  • Team members with six or more attendance points, a suspension within the last twelve months, or a Core Safety Mandate violation within the last twenty‑four months will not be considered.

Nice To Haves

  • Commercial HVAC or industrial refrigeration experience is preferred; however, related or similar industrial experience involving electrical, mechanical, or chemical work will be considered (experience may be from multiple employers as long as it totals at least twelve (12) months).
