POSITION SUMMARY: Refrigeration Maintenance Technician - Goodlettsville Case Rdy Plant Pay - Depends on skill level Responsible for the daily operation, monitoring, safety, general maintenance, PM’s, mechanical integrity, maintaining all written documents required for daily operation, and the repair or replacement of the ammonia refrigeration system equipment to operate cost efficiently and to ensure maximum production quantity and quality, while supporting and being actively involved with the policies of PSM/RMP and the goals and objectives of Tyson Foods.

Requirements

  • REQUIREMENTS: 6 months industrial refrigeration experience - Please attach your resume to show case your talent
  • Basic hydraulic and electrical skills required.
  • Must have troubleshooting skills and abilities.
  • Must have the ability to follow written and oral instructions.
  • Must have the ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and P&ID drawings.
  • Must be self-motivated.
  • Must have good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be willing and able to perform the following task for periods of 8 hours on concrete floor, some of which may include but is not limited to standing, stooping, walking, climbing, and lifting.
  • Must be willing and able to work in temperatures less than or equal to 35 degrees Fahrenheit temperature for minimum of 8 hours.
  • Must be willing and able to lift, push, pull or carry 50 pounds.
  • Must be willing and able to wear a respirator, SCBA, and a level A suit.
  • Must be willing and able to work at heights of 40 feet or more.
  • Must be willing and able to work 8 - 12 hour day with extended hours as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Ammonia refrigeration operator experience preferred.
  • Industrial maintenance experience preferred.
  • Electrical training preferred.
  • Hazmat training preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical troubleshooting of ammonia refrigeration components.
  • Responsible for maintaining and improving the mechanical integrity of the ammonia refrigeration system.
  • Responsible for monitoring temperatures, pressures and levels of ammonia in the ammonia refrigeration system.
  • Responsible for repairing electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical components in the refrigeration system.
  • Responsible for correcting any pressure, temperature, or level irregularities in the ammonia refrigeration system.
  • Responsible for maintaining the refrigeration log books and equipment logs.
  • Responsible for performing mechanical integrity inspections on the ammonia refrigeration components.
  • Must be actively involved in the Process safety Management program.
  • Must actively pursue and maintain all training requirements for ammonia refrigeration and PSM.
  • Must be proficient in the use of basic hand and power tools.
  • Perform duties as required by supervisor.
  • Management will appoint a trained designee to fill in for absentees and vacancies.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with company employees and all levels of management.
  • Familiar with the safe operation of production line conveyor equipment.
  • Must be able to maintain prompt and regular job attendance.
  • Must be able to travel for ammonia refrigeration / PSM training.
  • Make operational decisions based on available data.
  • Must be willing to respond to after-hour emergencies.
  • Must be able to work alone or in a team environment and be able to make quick, accurate, and sound decisions.
  • Must be available to perform system walk downs on weekends and Holidays.
  • Must be Proficient at multi-tasking, recognizing priorities, and working with minimal supervision.
