About The Position

The Maintenance & Refrigeration position at Tyson Foods is responsible for the operation and maintenance of refrigeration systems while ensuring a safe work environment. The role requires familiarity with ammonia and electrical refrigeration systems, and it operates primarily on the 2nd shift. The position offers a sign-on bonus and emphasizes the importance of adhering to safety and company policies.

Requirements

  • Minimum of (1) year of mechanic work experience or be a graduate of an Industrial Maintenance Training program.
  • Experience with basic Refrigeration systems through Technical Schools, Military Training and/or Trades.
  • Must have HVAC certification.
  • Familiarity with Plant Compressed Air systems and all water supply systems (e.g., Chill water, Hot water supply system, City water, Glycol systems).
  • Must be a member of the Hazmat Team and pass required physical.
  • Ability to work in harsh environments for short periods of time (e.g., Heat, cold, rain, snow, wind, water, mud).
  • Capability to read, write, and use math skills for paperwork completion.
  • Ability to work competently and efficiently with little or no supervision.
  • Willingness to work overtime and/or weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct preventative maintenance and safety checks throughout the area.
  • Complete Tyson Level 1 through 4 Skills Training within eighteen (18) months of being placed in the position.
  • Follow all Hazmat grooming requirements and become Hazmat Certified.
  • Perform any other work as assigned by supervisor/manager.
  • Comply with all safety, food safety, GMP and SQF Requirements.
