Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled and motivated HVAC Refrigeration Technician to join our growing team. This position is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of HVAC and refrigeration systems for commercial and industrial clients. The ideal candidate has a strong technical foundation, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to providing high-quality service. Equipment serviced includes reach-in and walk-in coolers, exhaust fans, evaporative (swamp) coolers, ice machines, and commercial HVAC systems.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (technical certification preferred).
  • Valid HVAC/Refrigeration Technician license and EPA certification (Type I and Type II or Universal).
  • Minimum 3 years of experience working in HVAC and refrigeration system installation, maintenance, and repair.
  • Strong knowledge of refrigeration principles, electrical systems, and mechanical troubleshooting.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Proficient in using diagnostic tools, gauges, and other HVAC/refrigeration equipment.
  • Excellent communication skills and customer service-oriented attitude.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment and tools, and work in various environmental conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and repair HVAC and refrigeration systems, including air conditioning units, refrigeration units, heating systems, and ventilation equipment.
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance and inspections to ensure systems are functioning efficiently and in compliance with industry standards.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with HVAC and refrigeration systems, using diagnostic tools and technical knowledge to identify and resolve problems.
  • Work with refrigerants including R-404A, R-448A, and other modern refrigerants, including A2L refrigerants, ensuring proper handling and adherence to all safety and environmental protocols.
  • Provide clear and concise communication with customers, explaining the scope of work, system functionality, and maintenance requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records of service and repairs performed, including work orders, parts used, and time spent on each project.
  • Comply with local, state, and federal regulations related to HVAC and refrigeration systems, including safety standards and environmental protocols.
  • Collaborate with other team members to complete large-scale projects efficiently and within set timelines.
  • Stay current with industry trends, product advancements, and new technologies to continually improve service quality.
