About The Position

The Refrigeration / HVAC Service Technician at Desert Diamond Casino West Valley is responsible for ensuring the efficient operation, maintenance, and repair of commercial refrigeration equipment and kitchen appliances. This role involves performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and coordinating repairs to minimize service disruptions, all under the supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED with training in low temp refrigeration and commercial kitchen equipment.
• Four years of refrigeration repair and troubleshooting experience.
• EPA 608 certification is required.
• Ability to handle refrigerants properly and adjust thermal expansion valves.
• Familiarity with a Computerized Maintenance Management System.
• Valid driver's license is necessary.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug/alcohol screen and background investigation.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of basic plumbing.
• Knowledge of electricity and safety practices related to electrical systems.
• Ability to order parts and service manuals related to equipment repairs.
• Experience in a 24/7 operational environment.

Responsibilities

• Schedules monthly maintenance inspections on all commercial refrigeration equipment and appliances.
• Performs service and mechanical repairs on all commercial refrigeration and appliances, including maintenance and replacement of parts.
• Assesses the preventive maintenance schedule to ensure equipment longevity and reduce repairs.
• Coordinates repair activities with supervisory personnel and responds promptly to repair orders.
• Assists other technicians and team members as needed.
• Maintains, services, and repairs refrigeration units, walk-in refrigerators, and freezers.
• Contacts and coordinates with outside vendors for repairs and services.
• Performs troubleshooting and repairs on electrical systems and recommends new equipment or modifications.
• Ensures proper cleaning and maintenance of all equipment, tools, materials, and vehicles used on-site.
• Adheres to safety principles and practices in the operation of all equipment and tools.
• Oversees and participates in work site clean-up and restoration activities.
• Responds to emergencies or critical incidents, such as fires or flooding.
• Installs and maintains refrigeration equipment and grease traps.
• Attends mandatory training sessions.
• Contributes to team efforts and achieves related results as required.
