This job is for an HVAC/refrigeration maintenance technician to work full time at the Arkema Clear Lake site. This person will perform daily maintenance activities needed by the operations and maintenance departments to support the HVAC and refrigeration systems throughout the process units and all occupied buildings. The technician will participate in reactive maintenance activities, preventative maintenance activities, and RCI investigations as needed. This position should not require any travel outside of minor opportunities for training which may come up once or twice a year. This position will be a part of the HVAC/Refrigeration team which will be composed of at least one technician and one team leader, both of which will report to the I/E/A Maintenance Manager. The job holder reports directly to the Clear Lake I/E/A Maintenance Manager. The person has routine, direct interaction with the Operations Technical Advisor(s), Operators, Maintenance Planners, Maintenance Coordinators, Reliability Team, and HES. The job holder will have responsibility for performing the maintenance and reliability of all plant refrigeration equipment: · 3 process chillers in the Glacial I and Glacial II operating units [2 - 1500ton, 1 - 800ton]. · 5 absorption refrigeration units designed to cool the plant refrigerated water system [5 - 1000ton]. · Approximately 48 comfort cooling systems ranging in size from small window units to building HVAC. · Approximately 21 small miscellaneous items - refrigerators, freezers, ice machines, water coolers The job holder will interface with the appropriate resources to resolve, improve, and implement maintenance activities in a safe, responsible, and environmentally sound manner which is in compliance with all regulatory requirements. The duties of this position are conducted with the following considerations: · Equipment capabilities - Mechanical integrity deficiencies and required inspections. · Production and Maintenance workforce availability and capability. · Impact of process changes on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). · Supports the site HES policy and complies with all regulatory and internal requirements · Participates in HES activities provided by site management and Arkema Inc. (e.g., Behavioral Base Safety, SafeStart, etc.) · Supports and promotes the reporting of all health, safety, environmental, near-miss, accident or injury incidents. · Understands and Supports the Clear Lake Facility Acrylic Monomers HSE2Q Commitment. The job holder will be located at the Clear Lake Plant and will have office space in the Esters control room. As the plant needs arise, the person will be required to work overtime. The employee will be required to go on call, upon completion of necessary steps of their skill progression. Individual must be able to communicate on multiple levels of the organization and manage multiple tasks.
