We have an incredible opportunity for a dynamic, energetic, and eager Refrigeration Maintenance Technician in NYC! Requirements

  • Minimum of 2+ years of hands-on experience in refrigeration, HVAC, or commercial kitchen equipment maintenance
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Technical or trade school training preferredStrong understanding of refrigeration cycles and HVAC systems
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
  • Hands-on experience with refrigerant tools (gauges, vacuum pumps, recovery machines)
  • Knowledge of system diagnostics including superheat and subcooling
  • Ability to troubleshoot compressors, motors, sensors, and control systems
  • Familiarity with CMMS or work order management systems
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and documentation skills Ability to safely work with high and low voltage systems
  • EPA Section 608 Certification (Universal) – required
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Certification – required
  • Valid Driver’s License – required
  • All airport-related positions require applicants to successfully complete the mandatory airport security clearance process for their assigned location. This includes meeting all TSA and U.S. Customs requirements, as outlined in 49 CFR §1542.209, and obtaining the appropriate airport-issued identification badge (e.g., SIDA, AOA, or equivalent), in accordance with local airport authority regulations.
  • Ability to work long hours on foot and in environments with varying temperatures.
  • Flexibility to work different shifts (including nights, weekends, and holidays) based on business needs.

  • NYC FDNY Certificate of Fitness (e.g., A-35) – preferred
  • HVAC Certification (trade school or accredited program) – preferred
  • NATE Certification – preferred
  • RETA Certification (industrial refrigeration) – preferred
  • NYC Refrigeration Operating Engineer License (Q-01), if applicable – preferred

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance on refrigeration, HVAC, and kitchen equipment including walk-in coolers/freezers, RTUs, split systems, and production equipment
  • Inspect, clean, and replace components such as filters, belts, coils, motors, and compressors
  • Monitor and evaluate system performance (pressures, temperatures, superheat, subcooling)
  • Conduct refrigerant leak detection, recovery, evacuation, and charging in compliance with EPA standards
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and control system issues across refrigeration and HVAC systems
  • Troubleshoot high and low voltage systems, including wiring, relays, and control panels
  • Repair kitchen and production equipment such as ovens, fryers, mixers, and dish machines
  • Perform basic plumbing repairs including valves, drains, and water lines
  • Maintain accurate service records, preventative maintenance logs, and work orders within CMMS systems
  • Track equipment performance and recommend repairs or replacements to leadership
  • Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and manufacturers for specialized repairs
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and all local, state, and federal safety regulations
  • Support emergency maintenance needs and provide on-call coverage as required
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment
