As a Lead Energy Management Systems (EMS) Technician, you’ll be responsible for documenting and installing control system hardware, cabling, and conduit to support refrigeration and building energy management conversions and upgrades. You’ll also perform hands-on technician duties related to the installation and maintenance of EMS solutions across supermarkets, convenience stores, and foodservice establishments. Lead the installation and maintenance of Energy Management Systems in coordination with cross-functional trade members. Read blueprints and interpret control and ladder logic type diagrams. Use standard hand tools, power tools, and specialty tools such as voltmeter, multi-meter, amprobe, manometer, and RPM speed indicator Execute plans of control wiring and other electrical systems Install electrical apparatus, fixtures and equipment for alarm and other systems Install safety and distribution components (e.g. switches, resistors, circuit-breaker panels etc.) Connect wiring in electrical circuits and networks ensuring compatibility of components Prepare and assemble conduits and connect wiring through them Prevent breakdown of systems by routinely inspecting and replacing old wiring and insulated cables, cleaning circuits etc. Perform effective troubleshooting to identify hazards or malfunctions and repair or substitute damaged unit s Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
