About The Position

This position is responsible for the operation, maintenance, and management of plant Utilities, Buildings and Grounds, and the Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP). Utilities include, but are not limited to, ammonia (NH₃) refrigeration systems; plant and hot water systems; steam generation systems; compressed air and pneumatic systems; fire protection systems; and HVAC. Buildings and Grounds responsibilities include maintaining, managing, and improving all internal and external facility assets and property. WWTP responsibilities vary by location. Experience with Process Safety Management (PSM) is required. This role provides frontline supervision of technicians, mechanics, and operators in these areas, establishing work schedules and priorities to ensure facility needs are met. The position works closely with the Maintenance Management team to support overall plant operations and infrastructure needs.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or technical certificate preferred.
  • 5 plus years in industrial maintenance, boiler/refrigeration, or a related technical field.
  • Strong knowledge of refrigeration theory required.
  • Proficient in Windows-based applications; able to use email, enter data, and create basic queries.
  • Strong verbal, written, and reading communication skills required.
  • Ability to install, maintain, repair, and troubleshoot hydraulic and electrical systems.
  • Experience with ammonia refrigeration, electrical systems (230–480V three-phase and 110V control), boilers, water treatment, pneumatics, hydraulics, and general mechanical and plumbing work essential.
  • Supervise and lead hourly maintenance team members supporting boilers, refrigeration systems, building maintenance, and PSM activities.
  • Must demonstrate strong leadership, organization, accountability, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Food processing or packaging experience preferred.
  • Will be expected to learn SAP-PM and maintain accurate documentation, scheduling, and preventive maintenance instructions.
  • Fabrication and oxy-acetylene welding skills a plus.
  • CMMS experience preferred.
