Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Good reading, writing, mathematical, and verbal communication skills.
Physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform manual tasks in challenging environments.
Ability to follow detailed instructions and safety protocols precisely.

Nice To Haves

Experience working with refractory materials or in a similar industrial maintenance role.
Familiarity with overhead crane operation and material handling.
Knowledge of safety standards in industrial or manufacturing settings.
Previous experience in mining or heavy industry environments.

Responsibilities

Refractory Maintenance: Perform maintenance and repair of ladles and vessels, including relining with multi-component materials, cleaning old linings using chipping guns, and installing appropriate linings.
Operational Handling: Position and move ladles, vessels, and refractory materials safely using overhead cranes, ensuring smooth workflow and material handling.
Quality Assurance: Ensure all ladles, ladle components, and vessels meet process and quality requirements by following Ladle Refractory Flow Charts and Maintenance Work Instructions (MWI).
Daily Responsibilities: Monitor and report any unfavorable conditions or shortages related to ladles, vessels, or stopper rods to the Team Leader or supervisor promptly.
Physical Demands: Handle lifting loads up to 50 lbs, standing, climbing, bending, reaching, and walking in an environment with extreme heat and noise.
