Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Good reading, writing, mathematical, and verbal communication skills.
  • Physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform manual tasks in challenging environments.
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and safety protocols precisely.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with refractory materials or in a similar industrial maintenance role.
  • Familiarity with overhead crane operation and material handling.
  • Knowledge of safety standards in industrial or manufacturing settings.
  • Previous experience in mining or heavy industry environments.

Responsibilities

  • Refractory Maintenance: Perform maintenance and repair of ladles and vessels, including relining with multi-component materials, cleaning old linings using chipping guns, and installing appropriate linings.
  • Operational Handling: Position and move ladles, vessels, and refractory materials safely using overhead cranes, ensuring smooth workflow and material handling.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure all ladles, ladle components, and vessels meet process and quality requirements by following Ladle Refractory Flow Charts and Maintenance Work Instructions (MWI).
  • Daily Responsibilities: Monitor and report any unfavorable conditions or shortages related to ladles, vessels, or stopper rods to the Team Leader or supervisor promptly.
  • Physical Demands: Handle lifting loads up to 50 lbs, standing, climbing, bending, reaching, and walking in an environment with extreme heat and noise.
