What You Will Be Doing: The Refining Manager will manage and direct production activities within our Refining division; interfacing with refining customers and settling refinery lots, standardizing product specifications and quality expectations, implementing improvements to production processes, ensuring division is clean and maintaining preventative maintenance program for all equipment and machinery, hire and train direct staff of 6+, and coordinate launches for new refining promos. Your Day to Day Might Include: Refining Operations (60%): Oversee refining activities - monitor delivery times, expedite late settlements, monitor bottlenecks, move coworkers to needed cells. Must be hands on group leader and willing to learn all facets of the departments and processes and be willing to move coworkers around or fill in when staff is on PTO. Review all refining lots to ensure proper settlements and refining charges. Prepares product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends. Handle requisitions for parts and supplies and complete time sheets, production reports, and other necessary paperwork. Responsible for processing material for shipment to outside processors or for monthly physical inventory in an accurate and timely manner. Establish and maintain credible, professional relationships with clients, internal business lines, and external vendors. Work with customers to resolve refining questions, settlement times, and disputes in a timely and professional manner. Work directly with President on production goals and activities i.e.: scheduling, delivery, and quality. Coordinates the new services, promotions with marketing and sales, including establishing goals, training coworkers, and evaluating results. Monitor and inspect equipment, coordinate repairs, and schedule preventive maintenance for equipment. Ensure a safe, secure, and clean work environment for coworkers. Responsible for the proper care and use of refinery equipment and safe chemical handling. Helps to monitor pollution control equipment to assure compliance with air and water discharges Supervisory (25%): Work with Senior Leadership to determine staffing requirements, interview, hire and train new employees. Develop a high-performance team through employee engagement, mentoring and developing team members, and driving accountability and ownership. Supervise, coach, and follow up regarding safety, environmental, and quality work completion. Leads daily huddles, oversees refining operations, and enforces attendance and performance standards. Continuous Improvement (15%): Executes a system of production control, standard operating procedures, quality control and internal/external training. Supports back-office and firm-wide training programs, reinforcing technology and operations infrastructure between departments to ensure consistency and quality standards are met. Responsible for the chemical refining of precious scrap in accordance with all standard operating procedures as directed. Evaluates refining processes and methods for cost-reduction, workflow, increased capacity, quality improvement and efficiency. Stays up to date on industry regulations, trends, and technology. Conducts research for projects, responds to inquiries in a timely manner, and presents written/oral briefings.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree from an accredited university
  • Minimum of 2 years of production leadership experience in a manufacturing or plant environment with a proven track record of measurable results
  • Excellent interpersonal, collaboration, and decision-making skills with the ability to communicate with others effectively and professionally in all forms of communication (verbal, written, etc.)
  • Eagerness to supervise and manage projects for precious metal refining activities & team members
  • Proficient in use of computer systems, including Microsoft Office suite
  • Basic general mechanical maintenance & electrical knowledge
  • Ability to write analytical reports and Standard Operating Procedures on processes
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple time-sensitive priorities
  • Candidates must pass an extensive background check, credit, criminal and drug screen; in addition, all candidates must be willing to adhere to a metal-free dress code policy and no cell phones
