About The Position

We are seeking a motivated and experienced individual to oversee and lead all aspects of day-to-day production for an assigned shift at the Decatur, IL Corn Plant Refinery. The Shift Supervisor will provide leadership to operators, contractors, and maintenance personnel, ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable refinery operations. This role is responsible for maintaining compliance with all safety procedures, monitoring and controlling process KPIs, and effectively communicating maintenance needs. The Shift Supervisor will report directly to the Refinery Superintendent.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated commitment to safety and safe work practices.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively set priorities and manage multiple tasks.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for coordination, training, and reporting.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience (preferred)
  • 5–8 years of experience in a related role, with at least 3 years in a direct supervisory capacity (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a strong focus on personnel safety, product quality, and overall process safety.
  • Lead refinery operations to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable plant performance.
  • Manage production processes to consistently achieve in-spec final product quality.
  • Assess and plan personnel requirements to meet operational needs.
  • Assign work, set clear expectations, and monitor progress toward completion.
  • Provide ongoing training, coaching, and development opportunities for team members.
  • Interpret and apply organizational policies consistently across all operations.
