About The Position

The Refinery Shift Supervisor position in Valdosta, GA is an exempt level role responsible for supervising daily activities related to safety, quality, and production procedures. The supervisor will lead employees in all aspects of production during their shift, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations, food safety, quality control, and cost optimization. The role requires maintaining good working relationships with employees and understanding the interrelationships of all departments within the facility.

Requirements

  • Ability to sit/stand/walk for long periods of time while performing job duties.
  • Capability of working in confined spaces and from heights, bending, kneeling, able to lift 50 lbs. repeatedly and ability to wear a respirator.
  • Prior work-related and leadership experiences preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, participate, and support all safety, quality, and environmental rules and regulations applicable to the position.
  • Oversee daily plant operations, including safety and environmental compliance, food safety, quality control, production, cost optimization, and efficiencies.
  • Ensure accurate cleaning and sanitation between runs.
  • Maintain good working relationships with all employees.
  • Supervise, review, and suggest/direct initiatives for continuous improvement in all areas of the prep and extraction plant operations.
  • Review employee performance and assist in employee development, including Performance Excellence integration with job duties.
  • Observe equipment throughout plants and report concerns to Plant Superintendent.
  • Provide routine feedback to all employees.
  • Assist with daily production records as needed.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Work any shift required, including weekends and holidays as applicable.
  • Direct others, make timely decisions, and complete safety and work permits, as well as production logs.
  • Analyze information quickly to provide feedback in the manufacturing process and troubleshoot equipment failures.
