About The Position

The refinery operator plays a crucial role in maintaining product quality while ensuring safety standards are met. The operator will undergo a comprehensive training program to develop the necessary skills for success in the role.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to legally work in the US.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Previous experience in refinery operations or chemical plant processing preferred.
• Associate degree in process operations preferred.
• Able and willing to work on-site at the Valero Memphis Refinery.
• Must be eligible to obtain a TWIC card.

Responsibilities

• Perform visual rounds for assigned area to assess equipment operation.
• Take instrument readings and communicate with console operators and other refinery personnel.
• Prepare equipment for scheduled maintenance and perform preventative maintenance tasks.
• Troubleshoot basic instrument and equipment issues to determine if technician support is needed.
• Make equipment adjustments to optimize performance.
• Maintain housekeeping for common and assigned areas.
• Comply with all environmental and safety procedures.
