About The Position

Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Referrals Coordinator where you'll play a vital role in ensuring our patients receive seamless access to specialized care. As the bridge between our healthcare providers, patients, and insurance companies, you'll make a meaningful difference in patient care every day. What You'll Do: Serve as the first point of contact for referral and authorization requests, providing exceptional service to patients and providers Efficiently manage our referral tracking system by entering authorization data and assigning tracking numbers to ensure nothing falls through the cracks Build relationships as you coordinate vital information between Lone Star providers and patients' health plans regarding eligibility and coverage benefits Grow professionally through ongoing education programs while helping both internal and external clients navigate the referrals process Collaborate with our medical providers to ensure all documentation meets payer requirements for covered services Guide patients through understanding their financial responsibilities for services and facilitate ordering of medical equipment, home health, and other essential services Act as a patient advocate by addressing concerns and connecting them with appropriate resources Help patients navigate their care journey by assisting with scheduling tests and treatments Contribute to our data-driven approach by compiling and organizing information for essential reports

Requirements

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish to better serve our diverse patient population
• Minimum of one (1) year experience in a healthcare setting
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills that help ensure patient care isn't delayed
• Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information with discretion

Nice To Haves

• Experience with electronic health record systems that will help you hit the ground running
• Knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare documentation practices
