About The Position

The Referral/Transfer Specialist in Behavioral Health at Sutter Health is responsible for reviewing confidential clinical information and providing personalized referrals to individuals or physicians/clinics requiring specialty services from a contracted medical group, hospital, or third-party payor. The role involves facilitating referrals to appropriate Sutter facilities, programs, or affiliated and aligned specialists. The ideal candidate will have experience working in Behavioral Health and a passion for helping Behavioral Health patients.

Requirements

• Bachelor's in Business and/or Healthcare Administration, or related field.
• 2 years of recent relevant experience in Behavioral Health.
• Working knowledge of managed care requirements and processes.
• Knowledge of system, affiliate and community resources, and third-party payers.
• Familiarity with insurance authorization process and HIPAA requirements.
• Ability to communicate effectively through verbal and written means.
• Strong organizational skills to manage and prioritize activities.
