Requirements

  • Current state Certified Medical Assistant or Registered Medical Assistant license.
  • High school degree or GED.
  • Basic Life Support certification required within 30 days of hire.
  • Two years of experience preferred.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Good basic math skills.
  • Computer literate.
  • Coding experience preferable.
  • Knowledge and understanding of medical terminology required.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Customer service skills a must.
  • Service oriented personality required.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in scheduling activities, referral activities, and assists physicians in the treatment of patients.
  • Obtains pre-certification from insurance companies for patients prior to a procedure or service.
  • Utilize multiple electronic systems including Allscripts, Paragon, Tangible, insurance verification tools, scheduling systems, and more.
  • Assisting with the direct care of patients as well as other clinic activities such as preparation and information documentation for the patient’s visit including obtaining vitals, medical history and other pertinent information from the patient.
  • Prepares exam rooms for patients.
  • May assist with procedures as directed by the Provider.
  • Assists with collection of lab samples.
